2013 SUPERBOWL

In what League watchers considered an unusual Strat-O battle, the two top scoring teams in the league failed to score a single touchdown in the 18-9 Hammerheads victory over the Pachyderms.

In a disappointing Superbowl debut, Pack QB Colin Kaepernick threw 3 interceptions, the last on a final drive the could have won the game late in the 4th quarter.

The Pack's Aldon Smith sacked Shark's QB Tom Brady twice early in the first quarter but were unable to muster their highly regarded pass rush for the duration of the game. Brady opted to connect with WR's Wes Welker and Vincent Jackson in the flats rather than dropping back and looking down field. Welker finished with 9 catches for 104 yards, and Jackson grabbed 10 passes for 83 yds. Meanwhile, the Pack threw deep repeatedly, looking for a game-breaking score.

But it was no dice for the Packyderms.

The Shark's ground game was solid as RB Steven Jackson rushed for 108 yds. on 22 carries. On defense, SS Charles Woodson picked off Pack QB Kaepernick twice. Retiring FS Ronde Barber capped off a stellar career with an interception in the Superbowl.

In the end, the Pack had 4 turnovers and the Sharks had zero.

Ball control is the key in a low scoring game.

CONGRATULATIONS HAMMERHEADS!
